Leaflet
How to use Clearblue Digital Ultra Early Pregnancy Test.
1. Before you begin
Always read the instruction leaflet carefully before testing.
If you’re testing early you must use the first urine of the day, otherwise you can test any time of the day. Avoid drinking lots of liquid including water, before using your Digital Ultra Early Pregnancy Test to make sure you don’t dilute any hormone in your sample.
If you’re not clear on when to test, our digital tool can help you to understand when you can take a pregnancy test based on your last menstrual period and cycle length.
When ready to test, remove the test stick from the foil wrapper, take off the blue cap and use the test straightaway.
2. Doing the test
Simply place just the absorbent tip in your urine stream, or in a collected urine sample.
Remove the tip from the urine when the stop light begins to flash (usually after about 5 seconds). The light will continue to flash briefly and then turn off.
Replace the cap and lay the digital pregnancy test stick on a flat surface.
IMPORTANT
Throughout testing never hold the test stick with the absorbent tip pointing upwards.
3. Wait for your result
The Smart Countdown will appear on the display and each segment will appear in sequence to show you the test is progressing and counting down to your result.
4. Read your result
Within 1 – 5 minutes your result will be displayed on the display.
A pregnant result will stay on screen for up to 1 month. A not pregnant result will be shown screen for approximately 24 hours.
Frequently asked questions
My test says I’m pregnant. What should I do?
You should see your doctor for advice on your next steps.
My test says I’m not pregnant. What should I do?
You may not be pregnant or the level of pregnancy hormone may not yet be high enough to be detected. Test again in three days’ time. If this test gives you a ‘Not Pregnant’ result and your period is late, see your doctor.
How early can I test?
You can test 6 days before your missed period, which is 5 days before you expect your period.
If you get a ‘Pregnant’ result you can be over 99% certain you are pregnant, no matter when you test. However, as hormone levels vary from woman to woman, and in early pregnancy can be very low, you may be pregnant but still get a negative result.

How accurate is Clearblue Digital Ultra Early?
It is more than 99% accurate in detecting whether or not you are pregnant, when used from the day of your expected period.
Can any medication or medical conditions affect the result?
Always read manufacturer’s instructions for any medication you are taking before testing. Fertility medications containing hCG, and certain rare medical conditions, can cause false positive results. Ectopic or recent pregnancy, even if not carried to full term, can also cause misleading results.
The test should NOT be affected by other fertility therapies, common painkillers, alcohol, antibiotics, or the contraceptive pill..
If you get any unexpected results you should discuss them with your doctor.
I previously tested ‘Pregnant’ but have tested again and got a ‘Not Pregnant’ result, or my period has started. What does this mean?
It is possible to get a positive result and later find out you are no longer pregnant. This is called early pregnancy loss which is sadly not uncommon, affecting around 1 in 4 pregnancies. Happily, most women can go on to have a healthy pregnancy afterwards.
Results 6 days before your missed period
When you want to know if you’re pregnant waiting to test can be hard. That’s why Clearblue Ultra Early Pregnancy Test can be used up to 6 days before your missed period, which is 5 days before you expect your period to start.
79% of pregnant results can be detected 6 days before your missed period.
When can I take a pregnancy test?
If you think you might be pregnant, you want to know right away. But it’s important to understand what’s happening in your body so you know how soon you can test.
